Meeting between Chinese and Bolivian presidents in New York
Chinese President Hu Jintao held talks Monday in New York with his homolgoue Bolivia Evo Morales ways to strengthen relations between China and Bolivia, on the sidelines of a series of UN conferences.
During his meeting with Mr. Morales, Mr. Hu said that during recent years, China and Bolivia strengthened their cooperation in the fields of economy, education, culture, science and technology and have achieved fruitful results.
China attaches great importance to developing friendly relations of cooperation with Bolivia and is willing to work with China to strengthen bilateral ties, said Chinese President.
President Hu put forward a proposal on strengthening relations between the two countries.
First, both countries should strengthen their political and sincere friendship. China hopes to continue contacts and exchange of high level with Bolivia to strengthen political trust and mutual support on issues of common interest.
Secondly, the two countries should expand mutual beneficial cooperation. China is ready to import more products from Bolivia, to encourage Chinese companies to invest in Bolivia and to support cooperation between enterprises of both countries in areas such as gas and oil, mining, agriculture and infrastructure, said Hu.
Thirdly, both countries should promote exchanges and humanitarian, fourthly, the two sides should strengthen their cooperation on international and regional affairs.
Bolivian President Morales has ruled sasfaisante cooperation between the two countries in politics and that they share extensive common interests.
Bolivia is willing to make concerted efforts with China to deepen cooperation in areas such as transport, communications and education.
The Chinese president arrived Monday in New York must participate Tuesday in a UN summit on climate change and deliver a speech at the general debate of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
After his stay in New York, the Chinese president will travel to Pittsburgh to attend the G20 summit, scheduled for September 24 and 25.
